Main Screen Operations

Overview
This section shows possible actions within main screen of the IP Switcher (Basic). Most of changes can be done through this interface. Here is a little scope for that:

Available adapters
This combo-box let you to select any of the existing network adapters. This should be done in order to save or apply current TCP/IP configuration (set of IP addresses, mask and gateway for Network Card, DNS Servers, WINS Servers and so on).
Also there is a possibility to refresh list of the existing network adapters. Sometimes network adapter (e.g. PPPoE virtual network adapter) could be enabled AFTER starting of IP Switcher (Basic). Or one of the adapters could be disabled DURING work of the program. Hence Refresh icon gives you ability to get the whole list of the adapters at any moment just by clicking it (it¡¯s marked with red circle in the above picture).

Configuration name
This text filed provides you with ability to set or change name of the selected TCP Configuration. You can not change this name while-check box Change Name is not ticked off.
By default Change Name is always switched off (configuration loading, new configuration creating, etc.). Even after saving of configuration - this check-box will be switched off.

TCP/IP Settings
This frame contains IP entry controls for IP address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway. Some base checking will be performed when you will try to enter any data within these fields.
Additional feature here is an ability to obtain IP address from DHCP server directly. In this case IP address in the Advanced Edit screen also will be disabled for editing. More detail explanations could be fond in Advanced Edit section of this manual.
DNS Server
This frame contains IP entry controls for the main (Prefferred) DNS Server and secondary (Alternative) DNS Server. As well as in previous frame ? it¡¯s possible to change receiving of DNS addresses from DHCP server. This ability will be enabled only in case if DHCP Server is enabled within TCP/IP Settings frame.

Control Buttons
Here is a brief explanation of the control buttons:

Default¡¦ - Main goal of this operation is to load default configuration for the currently selected network adapter (in case if there are several adapters). This default (original) configuration is created automatically when application is starting at the first time ever. Any of default configurations (for the correspondent network adapter) could be changed by clicking Set Default button - though this is recommended for advanced users only. All current values of IP addresses collection (IP address itself, Gateway, DNS addresses and so on) will be replaced with default values after loading of Default configuration. Also live (current) configuration could be checked (and loaded as well) by clicking this button. More detail explanation is provided in the Default Configuration screen;

Set Default - Use this button ONLY if you want to change your default (original) network configuration (set of IP addresses, Gateways, DNS Servers and so on). This information is stored in the Windows registry and could be set as active configuration by clicking Default... button. Confirmation dialog will appear to finish this operation. Recommended for advanced users only.

Save - This button is necessary to save all changes that have been made with current TCP Configuration. As well as others ? it will affect only the currently selected configuration alongwith currently selected Network Adapter;

Apply - By pressing this button you will apply actual changes to the OS (operation system) environment. Applicable to the currently selected Network Adapter. Some correspondent explanations could be found in Pop-Up Menu section of this manual;

Help - Help content will be popped up by pressing this button;

Exit - This button will force application to quit;

About - Shows About Screen. This can be important because it has contained information about registered user (e.g. User Name, User E-mail) in case if product was registered properly. Otherwise UNREGISTERED VERSION will be shown in the About box;
¡¤ Minimize - Application will be minimized to tray;

Advanced¡¦ - Main idea of this action is to provide you with ability to have more control in changing IP/DNS/WINS environment addresses. For the advanced users. More detail explanation is provided in the Advanced Edit Screen section of this manual.
